Construction of the New Career Technology Education Building

As part of its 40th Anniversary celebration, SWIC’s Red Bud campus is proud to announce the launch of a new 7,800-square-foot Career Technology Education (CTE) facility. This exciting expansion will bring state-of-the-art training opportunities in fields such as Allied Health, welding, plumbing, and construction management—while also allowing room for future growth and innovation. Strategically designed to meet the evolving needs of southern Illinois’ workforce, the facility will feature the latest CTE equipment and serve as a hub for vocational and technical education. With an investment of $5.5 million, SWIC reaffirms its commitment to empowering students and strengthening community and industry partnerships for decades to come.

Construction of the New Career Technology Education Building

As part of its 40th Anniversary celebration, SWIC is proud to announce the expansion of Career Technology Education (CTE) programming to the Red Bud campus and the construction of a new seven thousand eight hundred (7,800) square foot facility. The expansion of the CTE program to the Red Bud Campus will significantly enhance educational opportunities at the campus and the region. The project aligns with SWIC’s strategic objectives to enhance educational facilities and meet the growing demand for career-focused education in the region. SWIC anticipates serving students through the facility starting Fall 2026.
